What is Spiritual Formation?

ByAusti Baudro January 27, 2024February 4, 2024

What is Spiritual Formation? Spiritual Formation is the act of being transformed into the likeness and image of Jesus Christ.   Into the likeness of Jesus Richard J. Foster defines spiritual formation as this, “The Christian idea of spiritual formation is,…

🌿 A Prayer for the Weary Soul 🌿 Maybe today 🌿 A Prayer for the Weary Soul 🌿
Maybe today you’re feeling stretched thin—uncertain, exhausted, or simply undone by the weight of it all. This prayer was written for that kind of day.

You don’t have to have the answers.
You don’t have to be strong.
You don’t have to walk alone.

Let these words be an outpouring to the One who will carry it for you.
Let them become your breath prayer today.

Swipe through and pray as you go.
Then save or share with someone who might need it too. 💛

When the noise feels loud and the path unclear,
let your breath become your prayer.

✨ Inhale — You are the Way
✨ Exhale — The Truth and the Life

Sometimes the most powerful prayers are the simplest.
This one anchors me when I need to remember who is steady and sure.

Watch, breathe, and pray with me for a moment.
Then save it for when your soul needs stillness. 🌿
I used to think prayer had to look a certain way—quiet room, folded hands, the right words.

But lately? It looks like watercolor paper, a brush in hand, and a heart learning to slow down.

Painting has become a way I listen.
Not for answers—just for Presence.

If you’re craving a slower, simpler rhythm of prayer…
one that fits into the real moments of your life—
you’re not alone.
And you don’t have to overthink it.

Start where you are.
Start with what helps you notice.

🖌️ What has helped *you* slow down and listen lately?
I’d love to hear.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good…” Even “Let us not grow weary in doing good…”
Even when it feels small. Even when no one sees.
Doing good isn’t about hustle—it’s about leaning into love.

Your quiet acts of goodness—rooted in grace, steady and unseen—are the beginnings of something beautiful.
Keep tending. Keep trusting. The harvest will come in time. 🌿✨
Ignore my giant green bandaged finger! 🤣 A rogu Ignore my giant green bandaged finger! 🤣 A rogue crockpot slipped out of my hand and shattered in the sink, leaving me with stitches in my index finger and a pretty wild kitchen story. Thankfully, it didn’t interfere too much with my painting process (though I may have added some *extra flair* with that finger in the air 😅).

What it seems like I’m continuing to learn: beauty and brokenness often show up together. Whether it’s in art, life, or a messy kitchen moment, there’s grace in the unexpected.

This iris came to life with a bit of pain, a lot of paint, and the reminder that healing doesn’t always look like stopping.

What’s something beautiful you’ve noticed growing in an unlikely place?
